‘Rising Star’ artist Aaron Angell

Artist Aaron Angell produces intricate ceramic sculptures and has been named as one of the Observer’s Rising Stars of 2017. Angell attended Slade School of Art and works from his studio, the London-based Troy Town Art Pottery, which he calls a ‘radical and psychedelic ceramic workshop for artists’.

Angell is co-curating the upcoming exhibition That Continuous Thing: Artists and the Ceramics Studio, 1920 – Today at Tate St Ives from 31st March – 3rd September 2017. The exhibition will explore the diverse forms, energies and locations that define the modern ceramics studio: spanning 100 years from the emergence of studio pottery to recent works produced at Troy Town Art Pottery by Angell and various artists including Anthea Hamilton.

A tank that is home to Angell’s axolotl will also feature complete with subaquatic rotating exhibition environments. Read the full article here.
